Video Poker
OBJECTIVE
The objective of the game is to get the highest five-card combination (see below).
COMBINATIONS
1. PAIR. Having two cards with the same value - for example, the five of clubs and the five of hearts.
2. TWO PAIR. Having two sets of cards with the same value - for example, a pair of sixes and a pair of sevens.
3. THREE OF A KIND. Having three cards with the same value - for example, three queens. The value of the remaining two cards does not matter.
4. STRAIGHT. When all five cards form a consecutive sequence having more than one suit - for example, having a three, a four, a five, a six, and a seven.
5. FLUSH. When all five cards are of the same suit - for example, having the ace, three, five, nine, and queen of spades. Sequence is irrelevant with an ordinary flush.
6. FULL HOUSE. A hand which consists of three identical cards and a pair - for example, three queens and two threes. The value of the three identical cards and the pair of identical cards does not matter.
7. FOUR OF A KIND. Having four cards with the same value - for example, having four aces. The value of the remaining card is irrelevant.
8. STRAIGHT FLUSH. When all five cards of the same suit form a consecutive sequence - for example, a five, a six, a seven, an eight, and a nine of hearts.
9. ROYAL FLUSH. Having a ten, a jack, a queen, a king, and an ace of the same suit.
HOW TO PLAY/GENERAL RULES OF THE GAME
1. The game is played with one 52-card deck which the machine shuffles after every hand. You will be dealt one hand, consisting of five cards.
2. Choose the cards you wish to keep, or hold, by clicking on the HOLD button below each card. You can choose to hold as many cards as you want, or choose not to hold any card at all. In the latter case, the machine will draw a brand new hand of 5 cards.
3. Click on DRAW to replace the cards you chose not to keep. For example, if you chose to hold two cards, the machine will draw three new cards. Your new hand will appear after a few seconds.
4. Compare your hand to the payout list above the cards. If you qualify for a payout, your balance will be increased by the amount in the PAID column.
Distinction :
1. Normally, a single pair wouldn't pay off, but in Jacks or Better, a single pair would pay off only if it is a pair of jacks, queens, kings, or aces, in Tens or Better, it would pay off only if it is a pair of tens, jacks, queens, kings, or aces. Lower pairs do not pay off.
2. The general rules apply to Jacks or Better, except for the rule on pairs.
